A goal is an idea of the future or desired result that a person or a group of people envision, plan, and commit to achieve. (Wikipedia definition.)
Goals and priorities change over the years, with life events or moves, whether it is another city, or another job, taking care of family, or losing family. That’s a part of life and a part of the process.
Goals are rarely, or barely, achieved if they are not reviewed for progress. If you don’t see improvement in your plan, then you might give up when success is just around the corner. Some may want a check-in every 2-3 years; others nearing retirement may want reviews every year. The important piece of this is, just like the financial plan, is to know where you are, see how far you have come, and what the distance is to achieve the goal. When your dreams are realized, we shall dance with joy.
